- Develop and articulate the organization's data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Define data governance objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Establish governance structures, roles, and responsibilities to support effective business data stewardship and accountability
- Monitor compliance with data governance policies, client contracts and effectiveness of implemented controls.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies to protect the organization’s data assets.
- Design, document, and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define data classification schemes, data ownership models, and data lifecycle management practices.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (data owners & stewards) to define, manage and maintain data quality standards to identify data quality issues and root causes.
- Implement and drive data quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions as needed.
- Implement metadata management processes to capture and maintain data lineage, definitions, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to establish data products, dictionaries, glossaries, and cataloging tools to facilitate metadata discovery and documentation.
- Promote and educate data product and metadata standards and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, manage and maintain data security standards to include classification, data labeling and retention.
- Determine and ensure proper monitoring of access controls, data encryption, and other security measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with various technology teams to implement and maintain data governance, retention and cybersecurity controls.
- Develop and implement comprehensive data governance training and awareness programs for associates at all levels within the organization.
- Foster a culture of data stewardship, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the status of the data governance program for committee and executive management.
- Stay abreast of issues and regulatory changes affecting healthcare, data protection, governance and privacy within the industry and regulatory fronts and incorporate into the data governance program to maintain compliance.

- 10+ years of relatable Data Governance experience
- 5-10 years of people leadership experience
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Purview strongly preferred
- Data Management experience with Azure Databricks
- Proficiency in data lifecycle management, data modeling, and data architecture
- Knowledge of data security protocols, encryption methods, and compliance with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA
- Expertise in managing metadata, data dictionaries, and cataloging tools.
- Experience with Skills in using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI for data integration and analysis is preferred
- Professional Certifications such as: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) in Data Governance, Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified Chief Data Governance Officer (CCDGO), Information Governance Professional (IGP), vendor certifications in data governance technologies or relevant data governance methodologies.

- This position pays between $198,000 - 297,00 based on experience
