- Tuesdays 4:00pm – 9:00pm
- Wednesdays 8:45am – 4:15pm
- Thursdays 4:00pm – 9:00pm
- 3rd Saturday each month 9:00am – 5:00pm, with two additional 5th Saturdays
- Ability to learn various job functions, perform them correctly, and understand the necessity in overall library operations.
- Ability to independently function efficiently in a changing and varied environment with frequent interruptions.

- Check-in and check-out library materials; collect overdue fines and fees; sort and pack library materials for transport to the Central Library and other Branch location; search for claims returns and maintains claims return files; search for hold requests and shelve materials as needed.
- Assist patrons in locating recreational reading materials; place materials on reserve for patron; search for materials placed on reserve; keep “on-shelf” reserve list up-to-date; call patrons and maintain records for reserve books.
- Process new library patrons; create new library cards; register reciprocal library cards; input information in computer and maintain patron database.
- Register patrons for programs and accept fees, if applicable, for story times, reading programs, crafts, and other special programs; distribute prizes; maintain statistics; and route calls to the appropriate location.
- Assist the public with self-service resources including computers, photocopier, printer, scanner, fax machine, as needed.
- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the building.
- Attend meetings and training as required or requested.
- Treat all patrons and employees fairly and with an open mind; maintain patron and employee confidentiality.
- Communicate clearly, either in person, on the telephone and in writing.
- Cope with the stress of the job and get along with coworkers.
- Maintain the ability and patience to understand and to be understood by speaking patrons.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications is required. A Library Technical Assistant (LTA) certification is desired.
