It's also about how we support one another and how we show up for our community.Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.Reporting to the Vice President, Development, North, the Development Manager for PMC and HUMC is a member of the North Development Team of the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition of major gift donors.*Will spend most of the time at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen. Additional time would be working with Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack.ResponsibilitiesA day in the life of a Development Manager for PMC and HUMC at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
  • Work collaboratively with the Vice President to set and achieve revenue goals. Also work collaboratively with Foundation Systemwide Teams to drive planned giving, annual giving, special events, and grants.
  • Develop and direct fundraising for hospital programs, in collaboration with hospital administrators, board members, clinical leaders, volunteers, and team members for the benefit of the Foundation, facilitating the identification, cultivation and solicitation of major gifts.
  • Cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts, focusing on gifts of $50,000+, in collaboration with board members, clinicians, volunteers, and team members for the benefit of Palisades Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center.
  • Partner with clinicians on a grateful patient program to develop a pipeline of donors that support service line specific priorities as well as hospital and network-wide priorities.
  • In partnership with the Events team, develop and lead cultivation events to engage with and move prospects, donors and trustees along the donor continuum.
  • Develop and maintain senior level communication with CHE, hospital leadership, department chairs and division chiefs, and trustees concerning goals and strategies to introduce funding priorities to major gift prospects and the community. Maintains high visibility with and participates in leadership groups and maintains a regular physical presence at the medical center. Ensures that fund raising strategies are consistent with hospital and network goals and work closely with leaders on collaborative projects.
  • Collaborates effectively as part of the PMC hospital¿s leadership team to ensure that the hospital's philanthropy objectives are met through developing important relationships with physicians, nurses, & staff to promote a culture of philanthropy and grateful patient prospect.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in development or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently closing five-figure gifts independently, and six figure gifts and above with appropriate senior support.
  • Highly functional with Google Workspace.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience work for a not-for-profit.
  • Experience working with Raiser's Edge and/or other fundraising/CRM management software.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently closing six-figure gifts and higher independently.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive.
