The driving focus of the Product Development team is to bring new products to the proteomics market place. This position will be working with a cross-functional team consisting of software, automation, assay and system integration engineers along with product management, operational and field service functions. Though reporting into the Product Development function, this role will support critical projects and project management best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering projects to successful completion in the life sciences/biotechnology industry, with a specific focus on delivering R&D efforts from early initiation and exploration to product Commercialization. As this is a highly cross functional role with visibility to Senior Leadership, the ideal candidate need very strong oral and written communication skills.Responsibilities & GoalsThe Product Development group is focused on bringing new products to the proteomics market place. Areas of specific responsibility and attention for the Sr Project Manager position will include:
  • Establishment of cross functional project plans, including determining critical milestones and key deliverables / performance indicators for the projects
  • Tracking progress against these milestones, and communicating project status to identified stakeholders
  • Manage Project scope and risks to ensure timely execution and clear communication of issues for resolution
  • Work with Department leads on resourcing needs, tradeoffs, and prioritization
  • Provide Project Management support for the development projects, with a main focus on New Product Introduction to the market
  • Author and manage design and development plans in accordance with Product Development Process standard practices
  • Work with Seer's Software and Quality functions to develop and implement software development and life cycle (SDLC) management process.
  • Manage project communications within the Product Development group and to stakeholders outside the group
  • Coordinate Project Core Team meetings and Leadership / Product Approval Committee Phase Gate meetings
  • Coordinate with the Director of Corporate Strategy to establish Portfolio Management processes and company wide project tracking
  • Establish Project Management and meeting best practices across the organization
Background & QualificationsKey requirements include:
  • B.S. degree or greater, preferably in the biological sciences or chemistry, or in engineering or the physical sciences.
  • 8+years experience in life science/biotechnology or related industries, 6+ years of experience in project management with a proven track record of product release and/or maintenance.
  • Hands-on ability to generate and manage the Gantt chart for development projects.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, cGMP, and medical devices/ISO 13485 experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile methodology is desired, and PMP certification is a plus.
  • Exposure to best practices around software deployment a plus.
  • Experience with Jira, MS Project and/or Asana project tracking and managing application highly desired.
  • Experience in requirement engineering and SDLC management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals that make up a typical project team including technical, manufacturing, quality, marketing, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience in cross-functional and timely communication

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,000 and $160,000, and will depend on the candidates education, skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
