- Provides nursing assessment and interventions by obtaining a complete history, providing physical assessment noting deviations from the norm, ordering medical testing, and making an assessment.
- Selects, administers, and/or orders medications, physical therapy, specialist consultations, and recommends medical limitations or restrictions approved by clinical Guidelines.
- Evaluates employees with work-related injuries and illnesses and/or personal medical conditions for their return to work and their fitness for duty.
- Maintain medical case management.
- Assists in site emergency response.
- Reviews the results of history, physical examination, functional and laboratory testing, and determines the need for follow-up or workspace restrictions.
- Delivers and coordinates health promotion and disease prevention interventions which might include individual employee counseling, health education, and/or training programs.
- Clinical testing and medical surveillance.
- Performs baselines and substance testing.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of 5 years clinical nurse experience.
- Active Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License.
- Training in physical skills assessment and in the theory and implementation of specific medical testing and phlebotomy, audio testing and EKG testing.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- 2-3 years' occupational health experience is preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing
- Certification in case management.
- Certification in occupational hearing conservation.
- Certification in Basic Life Support by a recognized training agency
- Certification in Hearing Conservation and Spirometry /completion of an approved spirometry course (in U.S. - NIOSH approved course).
- Completion of Department of Transportation (DOT) required training course(s) for drug screen collection (US) and/or certification in Breath Alcohol Testing certification (at locations where offered required).
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees (for US - OSHA, DOT, Field Worker Safety Standard, FMLA, ADA) and current regulatory information resources.
- Detailed knowledge of anatomy, physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors and ergonomics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills are required.
- Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
- A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
