Operate all mixing equipment (automated and hand operated) to mix ingredients per ADM ANI specified feed formulation and quality procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, the operation of ingredient delivery equipment, mixing scales, mixer, liquid pumps, hand add dump additions, and other routing and distribution equipment for mixing. Good housekeeping is to be maintained at all times.Work Duties and Required Skills
- Follow the production lineup to batch and mix all feeds in accordance with ADM ANI established feed formulation and quality guidelines. Requires the ability to follow ADM ANI's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) including, but not limited to, sequencing, flushing and clean-out.
- Properly dump all hand- add ingredients per ADM ANI formulation guidelines and add to mixer along with major ingredients. This will require the ability to operate a fork lift proficiently and in a safe manner and the ability to lift 55 pound bags from the floor to a height of 50 inches.
- Practice good customer service procedures as required by company customer service guidelines. Remember that Customer Service is a top priority at ADM ANI.
- Grind mixed meal product as specified in ADM ANI Plant Product Specifications.
- Follow all ADM ANI quality assurance guidelines as stated in the Quality Assurance Manual and perform magnet checks. Work as a team player in the quality process. Notify Plant Manager, Asst. Plant Manager and Lead Person as necessary, if any out-of-spec quality conditions exist. Must have adequate quality training.
- Ability to withstand heights such as tops of bins, dust collectors, legs and other equipment which may be located in higher areas of the mill. Must be able to ride the caged man lift safely and climb ladders.
- Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (starting, in operation and stopping) in a manner so not to harm yourself, your fellow employees, and the equipment. Follow all established plant safety rules and utilize LOTO as required.
- Work in the most effective and efficient manner at all times. Properly mix all runs in less or equal to the targeted hours on the Production Lineup with minimal lost time.
- Work overtime as required based on customer demands and as directed by Springfield Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management Team.
- Fill out necessary paperwork properly, including but not limited to, lost-time reports and mix logs.
- Provide training as necessary to train new employees and lesser skilled employees when opportunities arise for them to learn and assume the pellet mill operator position.
- Follow all plant rules of conduct at all times.
- Be able to inspect and clean mixer and surge hopper per a designated schedule. This will require the entry of confined spaces and proper lock-out procedures.
