- Responsible for managing day-to-day construction oversight and Resident Engineering Inspection efforts, serving as the primary liaison between the contractor and design staff to address RFI's and review shop drawings. This role involves providing technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and project changes to ensure constructability and practicality.
- Oversee construction management field/office staff ensuring accurate record-keeping, processing of payments, drafting and negotiating field change orders, and compiling required reports and deliverables. They will also manage staff safety, regulatory compliance, permit adherence, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
- Direct multi-discipline inspection teams ensuring timely delivery of inspection reports that meet client requirements while monitoring contractor performance, schedule compliance, and responsiveness. The role requires exerting influence to maintain project goals related to cost, schedule, and quality, as well as managing contractor payments with necessary adjustments based on completed work.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for leading project progress, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining schedule adherence, and conducting meetings with contractors, clients, local agencies, and the community.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in construction management/construction inspection on civil works projects (earthwork, dams, roads, utilities, infrastructure, paving, pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, etc.).
- Experience using MS SharePoint, MS Project, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), AutoDesk Construction Cloud (ACC), digital tools for daily reports, and PDF editing tools (Bluebeam Revu).
- Ability to interact effectively with the Construction Contractor management personnel and crew; this includes utilities, state, local, and federal agencies.
- Demonstrate independent and effective problem solving/decision making.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
- PE, or CCM Certification.
- Familiarity with dam construction, heavy civil, and water/wastewater treatment facility construction.
