
Seasonal Winter Highway Maintenance Worker 2 (Multiple Positions) – Snoqualmie Pass

- Perform snow and ice removal, which includes operating dump trucks and sanders, as well has hauling sand and gravel.
- Operate 32,000 to 60,000 GVW dump truck with plow and sander units.
- Loader operation on/along roadways and with stockpile sites during winter operations.
- Establish temporary work zones, mobile work operations, traffic control devices, including Road warriors, portable electronic signs, flagging for all maintenance operations and roadway accidents.
- Maintain drainage facilities including ditching, channels, and culverts, cross drains, manholes, and catch basins.
- Repair guardrail, fence, signs, directional markers, delineation, and the removal of graffiti from structures and other highway facilities; accident scene clean up.
- Operate front end loaders, dump trucks, truck/trailer combos, sweepers, mowers, vactors, excavators, pickups and other miscellaneous hand tools.
- Litter removal, cleaning Rest Areas and other duties as assigned.
- Licensing & Certification: Possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with N endorsement without airbrake restrictions. The ability to maintain a CDL medical card.
- Highway Maintenance: Practical knowledge of highway maintenance practices including pavement repair, drainage systems, erosion control, vegetation management, sign and guardrail installation, and debris removal. Ability to assess maintenance needs and perform repairs to highway structures, roadside features, and landscapes.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of Class A, B, and C highway maintenance equipment, tools, and vehicles in accordance with WSDOT standards. Demonstrated ability to safely transport heavy equipment and materials between job sites.
- Safety Awareness & Compliance: Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and commitment to following safety policies, including confined space entry, fall protection, and hazardous material handling.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently in the field.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and perform emergency callouts/stand-by 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Ability to transport, move, and manipulate various types of equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to traverse rough, steep, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to travel in snow covered roads, ice, closed sections of roadway, and extreme winter weather.
- High school graduation or GED.
- This recruitment will be used to fill multiple openings in Snoqualmie, WA. This recruitment may also be used to fill additional positions per business needs.
- This position is not eligible for remote work.
- The salary range listed includes the 10% Pass Assignment pay.
- This seasonal work opportunity is expected to last from October through April.
