Stock Assessment Software Developer Level I

- Support ongoing development and maintenance of StockEff projects and products.
- Provide training and user support to stock assessment scientists.
- Collaborate with NEFSC IT staff to ensure system security, compliance, and infrastructure integration.
- Work with PDB staff to identify, scope, and develop new workflow tools and system components.
- Design, develop, and maintain code, input/output interfaces, Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), and database infrastructure.
- Prepare and maintain system documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
- Develop consensus-standard tables, figures, and reporting outputs.
- Ensure compliance with NOAA and IT policies for modeling software and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's or Graduate degree in fisheries science, quantitative ecology, computer science, or related field.
- Familiarity with NOAA Fisheries' stock assessments and understanding of analytical techniques.
- Strong programming skills; experience with languages such as:
- AD Model Builder, Visual Basic, C, Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML.
- Proficiency with statistical software such as R and SAS.
- Experience with code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
- Experience developing GUIs for scientific applications.
- Knowledge of web-based software and website management (e.g., PHP).
- Experience implementing standards in software and data management/documentation.
