- Provide care autonomously to a case load of patients in a gastroenterology practice
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problems
- Prescribe and regulate medications per prescriptive authority in Washington State
- Document patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of patient care to include verbal and phone communications
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits; maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information; triages patient telephone calls and provides medical advice and guidance
- Participate in clinical research studies as requested
- Infusion clinic coverage as needed
- May include inpatient hospital coverage as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEA
- Current WA State Physician Assistant License required
- DEA prescriptive authority
- Current BLS certification required
- Current Washington State Driver’s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed
- Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
- Clinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferred
- Current WA State RN License
- Current WA State Nurse Practitioner License
- DEA prescriptive authority
- Current BLS certification required
- Current Washington State Driver’s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed

- Ability to maintain sustained concentration and attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions, conflicting demands, and deadlines

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with other team members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 10 hours per day
- Prolonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computers
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 15 pounds)
- Must have the ability to utilize visualization, touch, and hearing to assess changes in patients’ condition
- Fine manipulation and ability to hold medical instruments
- Individuals in this position will be working in our Medical Clinics and may also work within the local hospitals
- Individuals in this position be able to perform some work remotely from their homes. This will require that the individual have a location to work from where they are able to ensure the protection of Personal Health Information (PHI), have the minimum internet connection required to utilize systems, and meet the other requirements for the Telecommuting Agreement. In general, WAGI allows employees that are approved to work remotely to work anywhere in the state of Washington. However, due to unique city ordinances that impact employers, WAGI does not allow anyone to work remotely from Seattle, WA. In addition, employees may not work outside of the state of Washington without receiving prior approval from the Director of Human Resources and COO.
