Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorships.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:This is a non-credit adjunct teaching position with instruction offered during the day or evening hours. Instructors are expected to follow the Maryland Board of Nursing-approved Cecil College curriculum, supporting materials, and approved text and workbook.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:1. Support the mission, goals, policies, and regulations of Cecil College.2. Support and abide by local, state, and federal laws that affect the college.3. Maintain contents of personal faculty portfolio including, but not limited to current resume, nursing license, CPR card, and TB testing.4. Manages overall classroom environment.5. Directs and supervises student-learning activities.6. Respond to student issues and handle student concerns promptly.7. Provides instruction, supervision, and evaluation of each student enrolled in theory and/or clinical.8. Documents student academic progress. Informs the Assistant Director of Health Care Programs of student concerns/issues promptly, providing documentation.9. Participate in the evaluation of present courses and return evaluation forms.10. Maintain course records (i.e. attendance rosters, grades, and evaluations) and submitthem at course completion.11. Develop and implement classroom lesson plans and learning activities, including but not limited to; lectures, videos, demonstrations, and role-play.12. Assists the coordination and delivery of written and practical ‘test-out’ exams.13. Attends and participates in C.N.A. faculty meetings.14. Maintains current knowledge base related to health care, nursing care, the role of Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), and Geriatric Nursing Assistant (G.N.A.), Cecil College C.N.A. curriculum and G.N.A. exam requirements.15. Recommends revisions to the curriculum as needed.16. Prepares C.N.A. students for the clinical settingOTHER RELATED DUTIES:1. Assist in the evaluation of C.N.A. students’ readiness for clinical and patient contact.2. Handles other related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:· Education: Minimum of an Associate of Science in Nursing degree. An R.N. unencumbered license to practice nursing in the state of Maryland· Experience: Minimum of two years nursing experience in caring for the elderly or chronically ill in the past five (5) years· Skills/Training: Completed a minimum 16-hour course in the principles of adult education or have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience· Proficiencies: Prior experience in a supervisory capacity would be a plus· Scheduling Requirements: Variable; Must teach both class and clinical· Physical Demands: Light duty with some lifting; standing for extended periods· Other Requirements: Knowledge of current audio, video, and computer equipment plus Knowledge of Canvas® LMS classroom management systemGeneral Benefits:Cecil College offers part-time employees a wide range of benefits, including accrual of sick and safe leave (1 hour of sick and safe leave accrued for every 30 hours worked); opportunity to open a voluntary retirement account with TIAA or Fidelity; employee paid short term disability based on eligibility guidelines; access to the Fitness Center and library and tuition waiver based on eligibility guidelines.The hourly rate for the position is $35-$40/hr.
