Known for its high-profile / high-end work, Southern Scape is a firm with a reputation for results. Since 1996, the Southern Scape team has been creating “magazine quality” landscapes for residential and commercial customers in Alabama and across the Southeast through a variety of services including landscape design, custom stonework, water features, irrigation systems, and outdoor living spaces.Southern Scape, LLC is looking for skilled landscape foremen that are familiar with hardscaping.Key Responsibilities:
  • Plans and executes hardscaping projects, using manual and power operated equipment
  • Installs retaining walls of modular concrete, ledge rock, boulders, and timbers
  • Prepares layout, using laser level, of patios and walkways with steps and elevation changes and installs according to prints provided
  • Assists Project Manager with daily operations and projects
  • Tracks and reports daily field progress
  • Operates and maintains landscaping tools and machinery
  • Keep job site safe and secure
  • Ensures all crew members use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines
  • Leader for implementation, safety trainings, team building, and participation in crew member reviews
  • Manages the performance of services to meet company standards and exceed customer expectations
  • Meets deadlines and project budgets
Requirements:
  • Proven and successful operational management record of 2+ years experience
  • Thorough knowledge, demonstrated achievement, and success within the Landscaping Industry is highly preferred
  • Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to read Scaled Landscape Drawings
  • Basic computer skills including Email, Word and Excel
  • Must have good communication skills with customers, manager, and coworkers
  • Leader and team player

  • Strong management and organization skills
  • Experience with project and account management
  • Strong work ethic
Working Conditions:
  • Work is primarily conducted outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Terrain may be uneven, muddy, or sloped, depending on the worksite.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (often 50+ lbs), and operating landscaping equipment. May involve repetitive motions and use of hand and power tools.
  • Full-time work schedule, with early morning start times.
  • Overtime or weekend work may be required during peak seasons or to meet project deadlines.
Salary and Benefits:
  • $40,000 to 45,000 annual Salary (pay negotiable based on experience)
