Altec is hiring an Accounting Associate in Birmingham, AL (Corporate Office). This is an entry-level accounting position that processes standard accounting transactions under direct supervision. This position will have a primary focus on Collections for our Accounts Receivable Department.Responsibilities

High volume data entry
High volume communication (electronic and telephone)
Creates/assists with custom billing for customers
Monitors and resolves internal invoicing issues
Assists with customer invoicing issues and requests
Communicates with customers to resolve payment issues and answer customer inquiries
Documents customer interactions in the accounting system
All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

High School Diploma or GED required
Excellent typing skills with an emphasis on accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Research and analytical skills
Extremely detailed-oriented
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
PC skills Office 365 suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work with team members and work with direct supervision
