
Machine Operator 1st Shift

Responsibilities:
- Adheres and follows all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements in the machining area and throughout facility.
- Required PPE must be used while on the production floor.
- Machine Operators will be cross trained within the department and throughout other positions in the plant according to business
- needs.
- Attendance is a must to be able to perform the core functions of the job.
- Assure proper cutting fluid level, and all other machine fluids
- Index inserts/cutter
- Pick up part from rack/box and load machine.
- Read blueprints to determine specifications of the workpiece.
- Perform quality control checks on workpiece using P40, calipers, and micrometers.
- Operators are responsible to immediately report any tooling that is in need of calibration or that needs replacement to the department supervisor.
- Troubleshoot quality issues and help invent ways to fix and prevent.
- Once the workpiece has been unloaded from machine and has successfully passed quality checks place finished part in basket and/or rack for next operation
- Work pieces that do not pass inspection/scrap should be placed separately and write NCMR and should be transported in a safe manner to the scrap table at end of shift.
- Report any malfunction of machine immediately to department supervisor.
- Clean chips out of coolant tank periodically.
- Maintain the workstation clean and clear from safety hazards throughout the shift.
- Must act as a liaison between production and quality.
- Willingness to learn and assist team members in other areas of the department as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year in manufacturing / machining related experience
- Mechanically Inclined
- Basic Computer Skills
- Caliper Reading
Pay Rate: 15$/Hour, Increases available after 30, 60, & 90 day performance evaluations#IND3
