- Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust packaging machines to ensure proper output, efficiency, and quality
- Perform film roll changes, weight adjustments, and raw material handling
- Perform start-up, changeover, and shut-down procedures
- Inspect equipment for issues, troubleshoot, and correct mechanical issues
- Record production data and complete required documentation accurately
- Follow safety and food quality guidelines and regulations
- Communicate with maintenance and supervision about equipment issues, and recommended solutions
- Maintain food safety standards for cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Serve as a safety champion on the production floor
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of previous Machine Operator experience
- Forklift certified, or the ability to become forklift certified within the first 14 days of employment
- Ability to work alternating 3-day/week shift, and 4/day week, 12-hour shifts with additional overtime periodically
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods (12-hour shifts) with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to excel at the physical demands of the role, including pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, standing, and bending with or without reasonable accommodations
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude proficiency and troubleshooting skills on varying food handling machines
- Understanding of GMPs, food safety, and workplace safety procedures and protocols
- Required to be able to read, write, and communicate in English, including technical instructions and manuals
