The Tax Manager/Specialist is responsible for preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses. This role also includes analyzing financial information—such as workpapers, trial balances, and supporting schedules—to ensure accurate and efficient tax compliance. You’ll provide tax planning and advisory services while building trusted client relationships in a close-knit community setting.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), C corporations (1120), S corporations (1120S), and sole proprietors (Schedule C).Develop, maintain, and review detailed workpapers, trial balances, and supporting schedules.Prepare, adjust, and reconcile general ledgers and trial balances.Gather, organize, and analyze supporting documentation (e.g., depreciation schedules, payroll records).Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to help clients maximize savings.Research complex tax issues and stay current with evolving tax legislation.Communicate directly with clients to clarify questions and provide guidance.Supervise, train, and review work of junior staff or paraprofessionals.Ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and applicable laws.Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in tax preparation and reporting.Key Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or EA preferred.Several years of tax preparation and accounting experience with individuals and small businesses.Proficiency with tax preparation software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, trial balance preparation, and supporting schedules.In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.Why Relocate Here & Join Us?Competitive salary and benefits packageCareer growth opportunities in a supportive, collaborative environmentThe chance to work closely with clients who truly value your expertiseSmall-town lifestyle advantages: lower cost of living, short commutes, outdoor recreation, family-friendly community, and a more relaxed pace of lifeIf you’re ready to take the next step in your tax career — while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of North Louisiana — we’d love to hear from you.
