Dental Assistant

- Help periodontists and dental hygienists during procedures or examinations by providing suction, handing off dental instruments, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
- Answer any questions the patient may have about dental hygiene, schedule appointments for patient care follow-up, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patient's teeth and gums, after procedures
- Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
- Measure and document vital signs and update the medical history of patients
- Meet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during the appointment
- Certification or an Associate’s Degree from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required
- Active BLS/CPR certification is required
- 1-2 years of dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are preferred
- Proficiency with computers, experience updating patient histories, and experience with dental software is necessary
