- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring that all safety protocols and regulations are strictly followed.
- Maintains responsibility for ensuring organization and cleanliness of all areas, adhering to 5S/4S+SD principles to optimize efficiency and uphold a safe, clean working environment.
- Ensure that production processes are carried out according to established procedures and standards.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as necessary to meet changing production demands, using Versatility tools to meet cycle times and Rotation requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production workers, ensuring effective communication and a positive work environment, based on company’s core values (RATSO).
- Identify and coordinate training opportunities to develop team member’s skills, versatility and performance.
- Responsible for Certification and De-Certification of Team Members based on performance and process requirements.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations with Team Leaders using score cards, Day in the life and Problem Follow-up Sheet (PFS) to address any performance issues.
- Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to identify and address defects or non-conformance.
- Lead and engage with the quality assurance team to investigate and resolve quality issues, including but not limited to methodologies such as 5 why’s and A3’s.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, including environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials while minimizing excess stock.
- Identify, Communicate and Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Identify, coordinate and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives, including but not limited to Kaizen projects.
- Reporting to the Operations Assistant Manager, the GL is accountable to provide daily updates on production status, challenges, and achievements and utilizing Problem Follow-up Sheet (PFS) to implement countermeasures.
- Prepare and submit reports on production performance, including output, quality, safety, and resource utilization and utilizing Problem Follow-up Sheet (PFS) to implement countermeasures.
- Facilitate communication between production teams and other departments, such as quality, engineering, and logistics.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Knowledge of lean methodologies
- Knowledge of equipment and processes used in an assembly line preferred
- 2+ years supervisory experience
- Manufacturing experience in the Automotive industry preferred
- Knowledge of production safe work practices
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Attendance – Must be able to work overtime, as required, to meet production needs
- Ability to rotate shifts every two weeks (day/night)
- Must be at facility at a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of the shift
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk; hear; or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or noise
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical and electrical hazards
- Position requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate by utilizing professional etiquette with all levels of Team Members, custom and with external vendors
