
Assistant General Counsel, Real Estate Legal

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of transactions involving AIG’s extensive global real estate footprint, including leases and subleases, assignment and assumption agreements, cancellations and releases, commencement date agreements, parking agreements, settlement, financing and brokerage agreements, and letters of indemnification
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements relating to facilities management and maintenance, corporate events and travel, and corporate aircraft
- Provide advice and counsel to key decision makers on the Global Real Estate team regarding real estate transactions and agreements, and the day-to-day operations of leased facilities
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and in compliance with all relevant state bar licensing requirements, including the licensing requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located
- 3+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience with a concentration on real estate transactions
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- A leader who collaborates effectively with colleagues at all levels of the Company, including executives, and across different functions to drive optimal outcomes
- Strong initiative and work ethic, including the ability to work well under pressure and independently, with demonstrated time and change management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Sound judgment and good business sense, including the ability to provide tailored, practical advice based on context
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus
