Job Description:PeaceHealth is seeking a Electrodiagnostics Technician - Exercise Test Lab for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position.The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $24.60 – $38.42.The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.Job SummaryAssists the physician and/or nurse in performing exercise stress testing on the patient.Essential Functions
  • Assists the physician and/or nurse with stress testing.
  • Performs scanning and analysis of ambulatory rhythm monitors.
  • Processes transtelephonic event-recording data.
  • Interprets and edits EKG data. Reports test results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma Preferred or equivalent.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year Preferred: in similar position and
  • Required: Successful completion of arrhythmia identification program or able to pass an EKG rhythm identification test before date of hire and
  • Preferred: Background in cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and electrophysiology.
Credentials
  • Required: Basic Life Support and
  • Preferred: Certified Cardiographic Technician
Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
Department / Location Specific NotesSHMC - if working in Holter:
  • Minimum of two years of Holter scanning and analysis required.
  • Processes, analyzes and interprets Holter and EKG data.
SHMC - if working in Treadmill:
  • Minimum of one-year recent treadmill testing experience preferred.
Working ConditionsLifting
  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
  • Frequent reaching/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling/ grasping.
  • Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force.
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Mental/Visual
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
