Part-Time Floater/Teacher's Aide

- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
- Keep classrooms, storage units, dishes, and bathrooms clean, neat, and orderly.
- Clean & disinfect classrooms, bathroom changing areas & other children?s areas on a daily basis.
- Assist assigned teacher in any way possible, which may include, but is not necessarily limited to:
- Straightening / cleaning rooms immediately following activities.
- Plan curriculum in detail for assigned class
- Implement the daily program for assigned classes
- Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children?s artwork, and other hangings
- Prepare snacks and sit with the children while they eat.
- Keep classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly
- May assume temporary responsibilities of the teacher in the absence of the teacher.
- Be familiar with and follow all center policies.
- Prepare rooms at nap time with cots and sleeping bags and remove items once nap is over.
- Report to the Director/Assistant Director any special needs or problems of individual children.
- Report to the Director/Assistant Director any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
- Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
- Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with stated policy on discipline.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's day, fostering positive relationships.
- Assist with the observation and documentation of children's progress and development.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities and other local in-service workshops
- Adhere to all state licensing requirements and daycare center policies.
- Perform other necessary duties at the discretion of the Director/Assistant Director
- High School Diploma, GED.
- High energy.
- Ability to work flexibly across different age groups and adapt to varying needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact positively with children, parents, and staff.
- Team player
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and must pass a health screening.
