Description of WorkLicensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). The primary purpose of this position is to provide substance abuse assessment and treatment according to specific treatment goals documented on the patient's treatment plan and in conjunction with the patient's treatment team. The Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist completes a substance use assessment for patients diagnosed with substance abuse/dependence in addition to other mental health issues, including the history of substance use problems and prior treatment efforts, analyzing abuse patterns, evaluating degree of motivation for treatment, and providing the treatment team with diagnostic impressions.The Addictions Specialist provides group and individual treatment according to each individual's treatment plan. This position also provides consultative services as requested. The Clinical Addictions Specialist provides consultation and education to patients and staff across the hospital and acts as a liaison with regional state alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities to facilitate patient movement throughout the continuum of care. This individual also acts as an interface between the hospital and various community and client-sponsored groups (AA, NA, DRA, etc.) to assist in the delivery of services to patients at the hospital. The Social Work Director provides organizational and administrative supervision to this individual. Regular departmental and committee attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm; however, some holiday and weekends hours may be required. Flexibility is required for training purposes and to meet hospital needs.

Broughton Hospital operates 382 beds and is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness. Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness.Salary Grade: NC12
