Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is looking for a compassionate and experienced Practical Nurse Licensed 3 that will provide nursing care to assigned patients/clients in stable conditions and in predictable situations in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing quality patient care and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.Minimum QualificationsPossession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundJob Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:
  • Reviews and prepares charts for medication management with necessary paperwork to include AIM, informed consent for meds, forms for lab monitoring, reassessment forms, and psychiatric update forms.
  • Observes clients to assess total health/clinic response to medications and interview clients individually during med management clinics.
  • Collects bloodwork for lab testing, testing for STDs and administers IM injections.
  • Must staff cases with physician during med management clinic and complete written and electronic records with concurrent documentation.
  • May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to emergency/disaster support services.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special DutyCompensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.
  • 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
