
Propulsion Mechanical Engineer, Kuiper Guidance Navigation and Control & Propulsion

- Mechanical design of propulsion subsystem, sub-systems and test-fixtures.
- Collaborating with the propulsion team to deliver low-mass and low-cost designs optimized for manufacturability in volume.
- Generate detailed designs and conduct/enable thermal modelling along with static, dynamic and modal structural analysis as needed.
- Support integration of designs into propulsion performance models.
- Tolerance analyses and verification of critical clearances for sub-system components.
- Preparation and documentation of materials for design review gates.
- Support and/or lead root cause and corrective action plans in result of manufacturing non-conformances.
- Contribute to the propulsion system development and maturation to high volume manufacturing by generating and maintaining procedures including: part/ component acceptance tests, assembly procedures and, qualification test plans.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- 3+ years experience CAD software expertise (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, etc.)
- 1+ year experience with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5M
- Tooling design
- Flight hardware experience
- Stress analysis
- High volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of machining processes, design for manufacturing

The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
