- Oversee and manage the Maintenance department within the monthly budget.
- Monitor/implement facility equipment maintenance/safety program to ensure that regulations are being met.
- Expedite and repair equipment on production floor safely, while complying with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines and procedures set forth by Del Monte.
- Work with vendors to implement proper inventory control of equipment parts.
- Identify parts replenishment resource and search for alternative sources when cost becomes excessive from current vendors.
- Implement layout and installation of new equipment.
- Maintain shop and equipment records, including preventative maintenance program and work orders.
- Advise the General Manager in matters related to equipment maintenance and impact of maintenance effort on equipment availability.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the use of all maintenance activities and resources within the facility.
- Monitor annual review/inventory by equipment, department and advise the General Manager of any required changes.
- Monitor the department's support and test equipment allowances to verify that on-hand equipment is being properly maintained and calibrated.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed maintenance and inspections of all commodity areas.
- Update and maintain maintenance records.
- Assist in the facilities audit process by identifying maintenance requirements.
- Establish maintenance production programs and Product Quality Deficiency Report (PQDR).
- Coordinate with department managers to verify maintenance reconciliations are conducted at least every 2 weeks.
- Monitor calibration control program to establish positive control, in compliance with directives, and coordinate annual inventory of all Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) within the facility.
- Execute jobs assigned by General Manager and Engineering in a timely manner and review any issues to avoid delays.
- Communicate equipment needs and necessary repairs with the production team, which will allow sufficient time to adjust production schedules accordingly.
- If needed, perform routine repair and maintenance work, predictive and preventive inspections on all facility equipment and grounds.
- Perform minor repairs (may include, but are not limited to general plumbing, welding, HVAC, general construction, fabrication, and electrical).
- Maintain a daily log of all work performed including repairs on equipment, parts used and other inventory control related matters.
- Assist in special projects as assigned.
- Ammonia Experience Required
- Electrical Wiring Diagram Schematics Required
- Mechanical Blue Print Experience Required
- Multimeter Tools Experience Required
- Industrial Maintenance experience Required
- At least 5 years prior experience in Maintenance/Facility and Preventative Maintenance Program management.
- Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing maintenance.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Good organizational and communication (i.e. oral and written) skills.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical, plumbing, general maintenance troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and able to work from ladders up to 10 feet.
- Must own a set of standard hand tools.
- Good organization, and analytical skills.
- Experience with PC spreadsheet and database applications.
- Ability to work as a team player.

- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC) experience.
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for refrigeration duties.
- Bilingual in Spanish would also be a plus.
