SALARY RANGE: $92,456 - $123,178 This is an onsite position, no remote or hybrid work optionsCORE employees are required to work in a safe manner in accordance with regulatory standards and requirements.The System Administrator III position is a senior role responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's complex systems infrastructure. As a seasoned professional, the System Administrator III will oversee system design, security management, performance optimization, and backup strategies. With a focus on automation and advanced troubleshooting, the System Administrator III ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the IT environment, playing a critical role in mentoring junior staff and collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless operations.Minimum Qualifications of PositionThe System Administrator III position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should possess 3-5 years of relevant work experience in system administration or a closely related field. Candidates should possess several years of progressively responsible experience in system administration, demonstrating a deep understanding of server hardware, virtualization, and various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix. Additionally, proficiency in relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), is essential. The ideal candidate will exhibit advanced problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems infrastructure.Preferred Qualifications of PositionIdeal candidates for the System Administrator III position would possess a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 5-10 years of practical experience in system administration. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in a relevant field, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and advanced expertise. Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are highly desirable, indicating a strong focus on security and compliance. Proven experience in implementing automation solutions, scripting languages, and proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS or Azure are also preferred. The ideal candidate should showcase a track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams, effective leadership in complex projects, and a forward-thinking approach to adopting emerging technologies to enhance the organization's IT landscape.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design and Implement Systems Infrastructure: Lead the design and implementation of complex systems and networks, ensuring scalability and efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and tailor solutions to organizational needs. Performance Optimization and Capacity Planning: Proactively monitor system performance, conduct performance tuning, and address bottlenecks. Conduct capacity planning to ensure systems meet current and future organizational requirements. System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches on servers and infrastructure components. Identify and resolve escalated technical issues promptly, utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills. Security Management and Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce robust security measures to safeguard systems and data. Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Backup and Recovery Strategies: Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for critical systems and data. Test and validate backup procedures regularly to ensure data integrity and swift recovery. Automation and Scripting: Implement automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency. Develop and maintain scripts for system management, monitoring, and reporting. Collaboration with IT Teams: Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to ensure seamless integration of systems and services. Participate in cross-functional teams to address organizational IT needs and initiatives. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. Conduct training sessions for end-users and IT staff on best practices and new technologies. Documentation: Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures. Ensure documentation is accessible and understandable for other team members and stakeholders. Stay Current with Technology Trends: Continuously update knowledge of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
