Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.We are looking for a Skilled Operator to join our team in Orrville, OH.Key Aspects:Must be capable of operating heavy equipment (loader, dozer, grinder) to produce our finished product, run a bagging line, and be proficient at operating a forkliftWill serve as maintenance support or a backup to the foreman, on an as needed basisDaily assignments will change based on staffing and production needs of the plantPrior manufacturing experience required in either a supervisor role or with operating heavy equipment, forklifts, and bagging lines.What you’ll do in this role:Setup, operate, and maintain packaging equipment and heavy machineryOperate a forklift to transport material and finished goods; load and unload trucksSolve daily operations problems with limited supervisionActively maintain good housekeeping standards in their assigned areaComplete daily job checklists & equipment checks/calibrations to maintain qualityComplete safety and environmental inspections as assignedMaintain accurate records of raw materials, samples & equipment operationsTrain new associates on packaging lines and heavy equipment operationAll other duties as assignedWhat you’ll need to be successful:High School diploma or equivalentA minimum of three plus years of production plant experience is preferredAbility to troubleshoot and repair moderate machine breakdownsAbility to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/ rainy weather, lift 50 pounds, and be able to climb ladders and work on their feet for the entire dayWillingness to work mandatory overtime including weekends and holidaysWhat we do for you (just to name a few cool ones):Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, holidays, vacation and sick time benefits available within a month of your start dateHealthcare navigation, advocacy and support401(k) company match up to 7.5% with immediate participation and vestingAbility to purchase company stock at a 15% discounted price from market value$600 annual wellness reimbursement programUp to $30,000 to help cover the cost of fertility treatments, adoption or surrogacyUp to 18 weeks of time away to support your growing familyTo view all of our great benefits, click !
