- Demonstrate the ability to be organized regarding and knowledgeable to secretarial aspects of patient care and operating equipment to include but not limited to: phone, fax, scanner, label printer, computer, printer, call light, SCD, cold therapy machine, glucose monitor, blood pressure machine, manual blood pressure cuff, electronic thermometer, and patient bed.
- Demonstrate customer service skills and professional interaction with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Takes the initiative when delegated tasks, such as obtaining lab specimens, vital signs, applying pertinent equipment/supplies to the patient such as EKG leads, anti-embolism hose, TEDs, and comfort measures to provide the appropriate technical care of collecting data, relaying the applicable information needed and collaborating with the nurse to identify the patient’s needs.
