Position Summary:Collaborating as a member of the Centralized Staffing Office (CSO) to ensure that nursing units have staff dispersed appropriately ensuring patient safety and quality care are available to all needing our services.Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurses participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Licensed Vocational Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Licensed Vocational Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Licensed Vocational Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients with a predictable outcome based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Due to the broad range of medical conditions they encounter, they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions.Licensed Vocational Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Licensed Vocational Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, and must practice within their defined scope of practice.Job Requirements:Minimum Education:
  • Graduate of Approved LVN Program
Required Licenses/Certifications:
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • BLS Certification
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Maintains professional appearance and decorum at all times.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Input data into computer.
  • Collaborate with hospital personal.
  • Leadership qualities and skills to direct unlicensed personal as appropriate.
