
Patient Support Services Technician

- Perform various routine clerical duties; utilize standard office equipment, screen incoming calls, take and transmit messages, maintain calendars, key information into databases, make photocopies, perform data entry, fax documents, type, set appointments, and word processing.
- Process routine patient enrollment forms, medical records, data input related to billing, payments, health statistics collections, and/or other related items.
- Assists in preparing and maintaining patient files and records, ensuring demographic and insurance information is updated on a timely basis.
- Maintain filing system, in accordance to established medical privacy guidelines, which may include entering, sorting, and verifying data into a computer system.
- Respond to request for information from the patients, answer routine questions, and assist patients by directing them to the appropriate client and service provider.
- Type a variety of documents with utmost accuracy, correspondence, reports, memos, notices, patient records, forms, contracts, schedules, meeting agendas and minutes, and/or other related materials.
- Perform spot checks of inventory, orders supplies for the office, patient meetings, and community activities as needed.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

- Basic mathematical concepts, such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication;
- Filing procedures and practices;
- English language, grammar, and punctuation;
- Medical coding standards such as CPT-4 procedures, ICD-10 diagnosis coding, HCFA 1500s, and UB-92s;
- Medical tracking and reporting software, electronic systems for processing third party insurance billing, AHCCCS eligibility and enrollment requirements, and the RPMS System;
- HIPAA regulations;
- Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.
- Maintain files and records;
- Prepare a variety of business correspondence, records, reports, documents and forms;
- Follow oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures;
- Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer, fax/scanner, adding machine, and related software applications;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.
- Perform intake interviews for various programs; record information to be used in determining eligibility;
- Track and update referral logs and records;
- Coordinate special events and clinics.
- Coding of patient services for payment and information collection;

- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
