Classification:Non-ExemptReports to:General Manager/Project ManagerJob DescriptionSummary/ObjectiveCommunicate with customers. Perform roof leak investigations and repairs. Installing various roof systems, primarily Single-Ply, but can also include Mod-Bit, BUR and coatings. This work is typically on low-sloped existing buildings but can also include some new construction projects. Fabricate and install edge metals.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Abide by and enforce all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Erect scaffolding, set up ladders, or work out of aerial equipment.
  • Install protection on adjacent surfaces.
  • Remove water from roofs.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Remove and dispose of existing roofing material.
  • Carry and place various materials for installation.
  • Operate hand tools and small equipment, with proper training.
  • Apply adhesives in a variety of techniques, including spray, roller and hot mop.
  • Roll out and position singly-ply and BUR materials.
  • Install flashing and associated trim.
  • Apply roof surfacing, to include coating and/or various sizes of gravel.
  • Clean construction site and eliminate possible hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Receives instructions from supervisor.
  • Oversees the production and safety requirements of the job and crew members.
  • Completes and submits all required paperwork, time worked and materials needed for each job.
  • Driving the company vehicle. Foreman is responsible for proper use and maintenance of company vehicle.

Work EnvironmentFunctions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumesand/or airborne particles. The standard work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions.   • 5 years commercial roofing service or installation.
  • Commercial roofing training certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to navigate and use smart phone and ipad.
TravelMostly in-state travel is required, sometimes overnight or multiple-day stays out of town. Company does not guarantee transportation.
