- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that encourage learning through play, exploration, and creativity.
- Foster a nurturing, faith-based classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged.
- Observe and assess children’s growth and development, communicating progress with families.
- Model positive guidance strategies and support social-emotional development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom, ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to create a strong, supportive team environment.
- Support the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and transitions.
- Assist in preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and engaging children in activities.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Provide individual attention and support to children as needed.
- Model kindness, patience, and positive behavior.
- Partner with the lead teacher and staff to ensure a consistent and joyful classroom experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (required for Lead Teachers, preferred for Assistants).
- Previous experience in child care or teaching is a plus (but we are willing to train the right candidate).
- Ability to meet Wisconsin state licensing requirements for child care staff.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A caring, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
- Prior experience as a Lead or Assistant Teacher in a licensed child care setting.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Familiarity with Wisconsin’s child care licensing rules and YoungStar standards.
- Experience creating lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Strong skills in guiding children’s social-emotional development.
- Ability to build positive partnerships with families.
- Flexibility to work with different age groups (infants through school-age).
