As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will conduct specialized imaging procedures, including diagnostic planar, SPECT, and PET/CT scans, using advanced radiopharmaceuticals. Your attention to detail, commitment to patient comfort, and precise calculations are key to providing accurate and valuable imaging insights.Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET procedures with precision and care
- Calculate, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals following established protocols
- Safely position patients and equipment to optimize scan quality and patient well-being
- Stay alongside the patient throughout the procedure, offering reassurance and support
- Ensure accurate patient data entry into the acquisition computer prior to imaging
- Execute scans in accordance with requisitions and physician directives
- Process and manipulate planar and SPECT images to produce accurate results
- Recognize and address potential issues with IVs and IVACs or patient reactions
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures and promptly notify medical staff of changes
- Collaborate with supervisors to identify and address safety concerns proactively
- Associate's degree or certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
- Active ARRT and/or NMTCB certification
- Valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- CT Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an NMT
