- Previous Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Consulting experience is required
- Multi-facility experience is necessary
- A current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Iowa
The Regional Clinical Specialist is responsible for providing clinical quality support to the Directors of Nursing and clinical teams at each community. This position applies nursing knowledge and experience in skilled nursing and long-term care providing guidance on clinical matters, training and education, assisting with development and implementation of policies and procedures, provide systems reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and to ensure effective clinical practices. Our ideal candidate has experience leading Quality Measures (QM), improving star ratings (such as achieving 5 star status), Requirements of Participation (ROPs), antibiotic stewardship, Infection Preventionist and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI). This position reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of current experience in a Skilled Nursing (SNF) Long Term Care (LTC) environment, with clinical leadership of multiple sites is required for this role.
- Prior Director of Nursing (DON) experience is required.
- Current, unencumbered Iowa RN license.
- Ability to travel daily in Iowa with some overnight travel required. Travel to bordering states as required to assist with Mock Surveys.
- ROPs, QM, and QAPI experience.
- MDS experience preferred.
- Strong facilitation/training skills with the ability to adapt training style to the level of the learner.
- Emphasis on Person-Centered Care with exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong LTC compliance knowledge.
- Team-oriented but also self-driven with ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of human resource functions related to staffing assignments, workflow, supervision, and evaluation.
