This is a Life Skills Teacher position at our Day School with openings in Bloomingdale, Elgin and Geneva, IL.The starting salary is $61,500 - $65,000 based on qualifications and experience. After your first year the salary will increase by $5,000 ($66,500 - $70,000 based on qualifications and experience).   • Deliver individualized instruction to students based upon their individual needs
  • Provide clear, consistent structure for the classroom, ensuring that the academic, social, and emotional needs of each student are met
  • Draft, create and monitor IEPs for assigned students in classroom
  • Supervise and provide feedback for Paraprofessionals
  • Teach during our ESY (Extended School Year)

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college and have proper and current Illinois teaching credentials (PEL license). Must include LBS1. Must meet state guidelines for school accreditation.
  • Experience in educating children with special needs preferred. Ability to understand students unique needs and react effectively to their needs. Experience with profound disabilites a plus.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
