JOB DescriptionSenior Production Operator TechnicianObjective:Operates machine or equipment performing one or more repetitive assembly duties in manufacturing operations to mass produce parts-in-process or finished product by load. Basic maintenance and repair, 5-S, training, quality control functions, packing and recordkeeping will be performed as required..Primary Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
  • Verifies that all required guarding and safety features are in place before operating machines.
  • Must be able to start machines, observe operation to detect misalignment or malfunction, as well as troubleshoot and repair issues on any machine in the repack area and shipping area as needed.
  • Functional understanding of all current and future machines in the Repack area.
  • Responsible for machine, tooling set-up and changeover.
  • Inspects in process and finished parts for quality, conformance and record the data according to inspection instructions.
  • Will perform complete line changeovers for different part sizes as required
  • Cleans and lubricates equipment, tools and/or machine per preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Manages Machine and Tool Spare Parts inventory requesting replacements as needed.
  • Will assist the Engineers to create Operation Manuals, Service Manuals, Quality Manuals, Packaging instructions, Changeover instructions, and Control Plan for the process.
  • Continuously strives for improvement in performance of all responsibilities.
  • Provides leadership for related initiatives as needs arise and takes ownership of process.
  • Responsible to train new operators on work processes as needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Verifies first piece for all machines.
  • Conducts daily Hilo inspections when applicable.
  • Perform pulling and put away of material for Repack in a backup capacity of the Material Handler.
  • Ability to release orders, print labels and close orders.
  • Verify orders after production is done and before orders are closed.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.

Title: General Heavy Production LaborDepartment:PackagingLocation:Lake Orion, MichiganSupervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Maintenance Certificate and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software or show the competency to acquire the skills through on-the-job training.Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Good Attendance
  • Able to meet quality and production requirements.
  • Basic math and reading

  • Basic Measurement Skills using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • ISO / TS understanding.
  • May be required to pass a competency test.
  • Must obtain Hilo license.
