
Veterinary Assistant

- Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, procedures, and surgeries.
- Perform laboratory tests, radiographs, and other diagnostics as directed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and fluid therapy according to protocols.
- Monitor anesthesia and surgical recovery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collect and record patient medical histories, vitals, and progress notes in electronic records.
- Educate and support clients on treatment plans, preventive care, and at-home instructions.
- Use proper animal restraint techniques and maintain safe handling practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile treatment, exam, and surgery environment.
- Support emergency and critical care patients with triage, monitoring, and interventions.
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and CSRs to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience; ER/specialty experience a plus.
- Strong technical skills in anesthesia, patient monitoring, and nursing care.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate client education.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Physical ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted and remain on feet for extended periods.
