Job Type/Status: Full TimePosition SummaryCenter For Family Services is seeking a knowledgeable, flexible, and detail-oriented Bilingual Case Manager/ Life Skills Counselor for the TAFCAR (Treatment Alternatives for Children at Risk) Program. This position will provide home based care management/counseling and support services to families residing in Camden County whose children are at risk for out-of-home placement. The Case Manager/ Life Skills Counselor will carry a caseload of 10 - 13 families and meet with them weekly to provide in-home services. Schedule is Monday- Friday (flexible).Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe TAFCAR Case Manager/ Life Skills Counselor, when assigned a referral, will make initial contact with the DCP&P worker and set up an initial meeting with the family. The Case Manager/ Life Skills Counselor, along with DCP&P, will write objectives and goals for the family. They will provide in-home services necessary to meet the family objectives which may include parenting skills, establishing daily routines, household management, communications skills, child development, basic budgeting, and other services. They will provide linkages to community resources including childcare, educational needs, food banks, WIC, etc. The Case Manager/ Life Skills Counselor will maintain a daily activity log, progress reports, attend all DCP&P Quarterly Reviews, and maintain contact with DCP&P workers in all ongoing cases. They will attend staff meetings, training, and participate in professional development workshops to increase knowledge and incorporate new developments into practice.Requirements
- ·Bachelor's Degree (BA in a Human or Social Services Field preferred)
- At least 2 years experience working with families in the social services fields
- Very flexible, with strong time management skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Bilingual written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English
- Current driver's license & good driving record of 3 years
- Vehicle with current insurance and registration
