About the Role
In this school-based role, you will:
  • Interpret classroom lessons, activities, and routines using appropriate sign language
  • Support student participation in classroom and school activities
  • Adjust communication style based on student’s age and developmental level
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special education teams, and families
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school district and state standards
What We're Looking For
  • Associate’s Degree in Educational Interpreting or a related field from an accredited program
  • Must have valid certification or licensure (such as EIPA score or RID certification), as required by South Carolina Department of Education
Prior experience working in an educational setting is preferredProficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for equitable education
