- Responsible for scheduling and planning activities for large or major projects with significant non-routine requirements; discipline/project/integrated project scheduling activities, including potential interface with owner and other design contractors/vendors, that require a high degree of technical skill and experience.
- Supports/performs 90-day lookahead (Work Front Analysis) and 3WKLA (3-week lookahead) schedule activities for their respective area, plus progress variance assessments.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to planning and scheduling issues which may arise.
- Provides generally non-routine scheduling guidance and assistance to the project.
- Performs and/or coordinates, collects, verifies, and integrates the work scope for all entities into the total project plan.
- Reviews design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, and coordinates with the project to develop additional estimating bases when information is incomplete.
- Reviews project work activities to ensure support of project milestones.
- Obtains required schedule information from all disciplines and functions.
- Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of schedule needs.
- Responsible for Sub-Contractors Schedule activities integration into Project Master Schedule.
- Responsible for Construction Schedule monitoring, 3 week look ahead reviews, monthly updates and reporting.
- Identifies restraints and their effect on the schedule.
- Identifies construction schedule considerations and challenges resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces.
- Monitors and reports critical path and schedule performance.
- Performs productivity analysis of construction operations and verifies.
- Conducts schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of scheduled activities.
- Recommends alternatives for schedule improvement to the project team for discussion and/or decision. Reviews completeness and reasonableness of quantities and labor.
- Reviews and evaluates schedule durations for all disciplines’ activities relative to the support of project milestones.
- Participates in schedule resource loading and leveling for assigned scope.
- Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
- Responsible for issuing reports required by Bechtel management and project procedures.
- Coordinates information input into specific studies.
- Evaluates study results and recommends conclusions for project team consideration and discussion.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Skilled in oral and written communication, including direct interface with Bechtel project team members, owner and potential design contractors/vendors.
- Professional experience in the field and home office performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis.
- Experience and strong knowledge of schedule development and administration, as well as training of technical and non-technical personnel on scheduling requirements.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Proficiency with Bechtel Project Controls scheduling operating systems (e.g., P6, MS Office applications) and with proficiency in several basic Bechtel standard application programs.
- Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel (with focus on construction and typical interfaces).
- Knowledge of engineering and procurement customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
