- Set up and operate programmable and template spinning lathes and associated equipment.
- Perform machine adjustments and implement process improvements to enhance part quality and ensure optimal machine performance.
- Assist with shift transition by communicating with the 2nd Shift Set-Up Technician.
- Shrink wrap, tape, and weigh boxes and materials as needed.
- Try out sample material, punches, and dies.
- Train other set-up techs, assistants, and operators.
- Monitor productivity by tracking downtime and cycle rates.
- Create schedules, machine utilization plans, process documents, and set-up procedures.
- Make data entries including bar coding, moving material, shipping, and receiving.
- Load and unload trucks and properly locate raw materials.
- Work closely with support departments to address maintenance or tooling concerns.
- Make suggestions for departmental processes or improvements.
- Organize spinning storage areas, cabinets, and documentation in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in metal spinning or similar lathe operation preferred, but training will be provided.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must maintain a reliable record of attendance and punctuality
- Show initiative, motivation and be able to multi-task without direction
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Possess a strong sense of determination
