- Serve as a point of contact for team members and manager inquiries, offering guidance on HR policies, procedures, and practices in a clear and practical way.
- Drive recruiting efforts by partnering with hiring managers to define role requirements, post job openings, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and facilitate hiring decisions.
- Manage administrative aspects of the hiring process, including background checks, drug screenings, job offers, and employment eligibility verifications.
- Contribute to onboarding and orientation activities to help new hires feel welcomed, informed, and supported from day one.
- Support engagement and culture-building activities, including recognition programs, internal events, and surveys.
- Assist with employee relations by gathering documentation, tracking concerns, and partnering with HR Business Partner on investigations as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and support documentation for job changes, promotions, and separations.
- Provide support for HR processes including performance reviews, goal-setting, and team member communications.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, EEO requirements, and company policies.
- Help prepare reports and metrics to support HR initiatives and leadership needs.
- Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives such as policy updates, training, Inclusion & Belonging programs, and process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is strongly preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with full cycle recruiting and a demonstrated track record of success.
- Experience in additional HR functional areas (employee relations, onboarding, performance management) is a plus.
- Prior recruiting experience within the construction and/or engineering industries is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and all levels of the organization.
- Commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service; able to represent the company’s values, culture, and mission with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to partner with hiring managers to identify, attract, and secure top talent.
- Solid understanding of core HR principals, practices, and employment regulations.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to assess situations, consider multiple perspectives, and make sound, informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and time-sensitive demands.
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment, involving long periods of sitting, computer use, and phone work. Some standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting may be required.
- Up to 20% travel may be required based on business needs (e.g., job fairs, campus visits, or on-site team support at various locations).
- The range for this position has been established at $66,750.00 - $95,000.00
