- Develop new, or improve existing, standard work for tool room processes, including the reconfiguration of dies to make different parts, and processes for maintaining tools in service.
- Working with tool room employees and utilizing audit and hazard analysis data, assess safety risks within the tool room and design and implement safety improvements.
- Support capital improvements by prioritizing equipment replacement needs, evaluating equipment options, conducting financial analysis, selecting optimal equipment investments, and making a capital expenditure proposal for management approval. As needed, analyze area layout and make recommendations for equipment layout modifications to support new or replacement equipment that supports more efficient workflow.
- Analyze tool usage and performance data to recommend a model for categorizing tools by criticality and identifying tools requiring major refurbishment, modification, or replacement based on performance data.
- Assess current spare parts inventory and recommend additional spares where current on hand is deficient, or elimination of spares where the tooling is no longer in service.
- Assist in resolution of production delays as needed, for example by taking measurements and preparing engineering prints of components that require replacement.
- Pursuing a BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing, Industrial or equivalent).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office).
- Project management skills and Problem-solving ability.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing tools and concepts.
- Teamwork skills.
