- Minimum Bachelor's Degree. Experience or education requirements may be met through an equivalent number of combined years of education or experience.
- 3+ years experience with legacy systems administration (Windows Server, Unix/Linux)
- 2+ years hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Experience with database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, APIs, and integration patterns (SSH, SFTP, TELNET, HTTPS, SMTP, etc)
- Proficiency in scripting interfaces to third-party Application Programming Interfaces (API).
- Proficiency with data manipulation and parsing in various formats, including Binary, CSV, JSON and XML.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Comfortable with a strong culture of documentation
- Proficiency with Confluence for technical documentation and knowledge management and sharing
- Strong experience with Jira for team collaboration and task management
- Ability to create clear, structured documentation including diagrams, workflows, and procedures
- Experience with documentation version control and content governance
- Familiarity with diagramming tools (Visio, PowerPoint, etc)
- Proven track record of successful legacy system modernization projects and in operationalizing custom software in mission critical environments.
- Experience with enterprise integration tools (SQS, EventBridge, Lambda, JMS, etc)
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools
- Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for operationalizing modernized implementations and system maintainability
- Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible documentation for non-technical people
- Collaborative approach to knowledge sharing and team documentation practices
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation practices
- Willingness to mentor team members and share knowledge of domain and technicalities of work
- Must demonstrate exceptional communication, both written and verbal.
- Must be a team player (team-oriented) and willing to follow directions, as well as take initiative.
- AWS experience and certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Developer)
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, ELK stack)
- Experience with agile development methodologies, Jira and accurate estimations
- Active or ability to obtain a TSA Clearance.
