
Outside Sales Representative

- Develops an annual sales plan with the Franchise Partner or Center Manager that details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus the position on meeting or exceeding sales quota
- Meets with and carries on business conversations with business owners and decision makers
- Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients using various products and the FASTSIGNS Selling Solution System
- Identifies sales prospects and contacts these using a “drill down” and “share of wallet” concept
- Develops and maintains a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking
- Follows up on new leads and referrals resulting from telephone, marketing, and field activity
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities (sales calls, presentations, closed sales, follow-up activities within assigned territory, etc.) and uses a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program to maintain accurate records and maximize territory potential
- Develops a complete understanding of pricing and proposal models
- Completes all paperwork and follows established center procedures from initiation through completion of a project (i.e., Work Order, credit approvals, POS entry, pre-payment collection, artwork approval, delinquent account collection, reporting, etc.)
- Prepares presentations, estimates, and sales contracts
- Establishes and maintains estimate follow-up procedures
- Helps prepare status reports for regular sales meetings, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
- Helps implement company marketing plans as needed
- Carries out market research (competitive shops, customer surveys, etc.)
- Identifies and resolves customer satisfaction issues
- Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with all support departments
- Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
- Participates in and practices the FASTSIGNS sales mentality of “Everybody Sells” and is constantly looking for sales opportunities for the center
- Participates in networking and marketing events, such as seminars, referral groups, trade shows, and telemarketing programs
- Helps collect account receivables
- Coordinates shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services
- Conducts or supervises minor installations
- Coordinates various tasks and scheduling activities to ensure quality project management
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced education degree preferred
- At least one year of business to business outside sales experience
- Understanding of and experience in the signage industry preferred
- Fundamental understanding of sales skills and techniques
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to effectively and efficiently organize, prioritize, and manage clients, team members, and work
- Superior relationship building, networking, and customer service skills
- Excellent account planning and time management skills
- Strong consultative selling skills/experience
- Proven experience achieving goals and business objectives
- Proficient computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Able to manage several projects concurrently using FASTSIGNS tools and resources
