Location:St. Louis, MOJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems for BFSI clients. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of core Java, Spring ecosystem, and microservices architecture, along with experience in secure and high-performance applications within banking and financial domains.Mandatory Skills:Core Java (8/11/17+) – strong fundamentals in OOPs, Collections, Multithreading, Exception Handling.Spring Framework & Spring Boot – expertise in REST APIs, Dependency Injection, AOP, Data JPA/Hibernate.Microservices Architecture – design, development, and deployment experience with microservices.Databases – strong in SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and exposure to NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).Messaging Systems – experience with JMS/Kafka/RabbitMQ.Web Services – RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.Cloud Experience – AWS / Azure / GCP deployment, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.Security – implementation of authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT, SAML) relevant to BFSI.Testing – JUnit, Mockito, integration testing.Version Control – Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.Domain Knowledge – exposure to BFSI processes (banking transactions, payments, risk management, compliance).Preferred Skills (Good to Have):Knowledge of event-driven architecture and CQRS patterns.Familiarity with distributed caching solutions (Redis, Hazelcast, Memcached).Hands-on with CI/CD tools – Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.Knowledge of API Gateway frameworks (Kong, Zuul, Apigee).Understanding of DevSecOps and application vulnerability scanning.Familiarity with Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka Streams).Domain-specific exposure to:Payments & Settlements systemsCore Banking solutionsInsurance policy management systemsTrading / Risk & Compliance modulesStrong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced financial environment.
