- Coordinate the adoption, development and implementation of One Emerson Regulatory Compliance standards throughout North America
- Ensure that business/location has implemented vital operational procedures, procedural training and periodic auditing, as applicable to meet the requirements for their trade compliance program.
- Lead business import/export/supply chain security programs
- Serve as compliance liaison in Archer to support the timely and effective closure of open compliance improvement plans.
- Proactively look for value opportunities in support of other departments, including but not limited to Procurement, logistics, IT, R&D, shipping, finance, and engineering.
- Lead USCMA Free Trade Agreement program including: the qualification of company manufactured goods, vendor solicitation or purchased goods, maintenance of all records, producing USMCA certifications for manufacturing plant as well as external customers and oversite of routine audits.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of CBP and FTA marking rules. Ability review bills of material/product specs and understand how to apply marking rules when resolving proper country of origin of goods. Provide leadership on marking standards and accurate marking of items.
- Act as ETC's critical issue point of contact for Trade Compliance questions.
- Establish critical metrics to measure trade compliance operations
- Collaborate with internal and external service providers including customs brokers.
- Maintain SOP's with customs brokers
- Perform self-assessment of trade compliance program on annual basis; analyze identified findings and collaborate cross-functionally to implement plan/program improvements and corrections.
- Conduct Program Verification Process (PVP) and present to senior management and executive sponsor annually.
- Provide business support in third-party due diligence reviews and approvals (Checkpoint).
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in International Trade, Legal, Business, or related field with relevancy to a compliance role.
- Excellent oral and written English language skills, other languages are an advantage
- 10+ years of direct experience in multi-national Regulatory Compliance related field
- 7+ years direct experience supervising and leading people, projects and/or programs
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Comfortable working with senior management
- Excellent digital literacy, and experience with Microsoft Suite, particularly MX Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups & other formulas to analyze large amounts of data) PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, & Teams.
- Confirmed knowledge of Oracle, Global Trade XXI - Prisma, Global Trade Management (GTM)
- Shown understanding of U.S. import and export regulations and rules (US Treasury Department, Department of Commerce and Department of State regulations, multi-jurisdictional export and import controls, Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and Harmonized Tariff System USA (HTSUS) classification requirements, technology management and export/re-export licensing)
- Proven expertise on Free Trade Agreements specifically USMCA/NAFTA and FTA marking rules of origin
- Ability to participate in, conduct and lead meetings to accomplish tasks.
- Experience working in region and with local regulatory authorities
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Licensed Customs Broker, certified customs specialist or certified export specialist
- Ability to travel 15%+/- for success in the role
