Eliot is seeking a strong, experienced Forensic Behavioral Health Specialist to join our Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team. PACT is an evidence-based model that provides comprehensive treatment, rehabilitation, and support to adults with severe and persistent mental illness. This PACT team is designed to work with a specialized population with a history of criminal engagement.The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the unique needs and history/background of the population, clinical interventions and have the ability to develop and maintain clear and therapeutic boundaries. A proven experience in community-based work with adults with severe and persistent mental illness is a must.Responsibilities:
  • Provide outreach support services to forensic PACT clients and medication supports as needed to clients living independently in the community.
  • Provide side by side interventions to consumers that focus on problem solving, skills training, modeling behavior, optimism and encouragement. Assist the team and consumers in providing on-going assessment of symptoms and responses to staff interventions.
  • Promote opportunities to participate in pro-social activities and interpersonal skill development.
  • Provide assistance to consumers related to transportation to court, work sites, court mandated treatment, probation/parole meetings, daily activities, appointments or as needed/directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, criminal justice, social work or related field with at least two years of experience with population.
  • Must have the skills to establish supportive relationships with adults with mental illness who have limited social skills and experiences with histories of unsuccessful community tenure.
  • Valid Massachusetts Drivers License
