The Technical Specialist is considered a subject-matter expert, is responsible for accurate and technical correctness of the work assigned and, must be familiar with all aspects of the work they are supervising. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Team with developing scope and fees for small to moderate single discipline projects or a specific discipline on multi-discipline projects.Key Responsibilities
  • Performs independent planning and design tasks, reviews work of others, prepares construction documents, and successfully delivers projects to completion.
  • Maintains collaborative inter-departmental and cross functional working relationships with members of the project team.
  • Possesses knowledge of codes and standards applicable to design of projects.
  • Performs initial QA/QC review of project submissions.
  • Develops schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
  • Works closely with project teams to effectively describe and deliver the scope of work.
  • Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.
  • Performs and checks design calculations, technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates.
  • Develops and maintains design budgets for complex scopes of work.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ job-related experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: n/a
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), be a strong communicator, and have strong presentation skills.
  • Must also be self-motivated and able to mentor.
  • Must be proficient in CAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook), and other related software programs
