- Review benefit offerings from a strategic company standpoint both annually and as required for business needs.
- Contribute to analysis of benefit programs in acquisition activities.
- Manage all team member benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending & health savings accounts, life insurance, temporary disability, ancillary benefits, and 401(k).
- Act as liaison between team member and Third-Party Administrator to assist in communicating benefit and policy information. Ensures billing or coverage issues are handled timely and accurately.
- Provide guidance and assistance to all team members regarding benefit plans when questions and special circumstances arise.
- Assist HR VP in recommending new or modified plans and team member benefit policies and supervises administration of existing plans.
- Prepare and executes benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies.
- Facilitate the quarterly 401k Fiduciary Committee meetings to ensure plan compliance and best practices.
- Direct efforts with brokers, vendors, and internal payroll department to provide timely and effective communication, claims and billing processes.
- Ensure team member census data is accurate and timely, including data entry as needed.
- Supervise and directs work of Benefit Specialist.
- Ensure claims and bills are paid timely.
- Administer BGIS leave management programs in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and oversee vendor for FMLA and disability claims.
- Lead annual open enrollment meetings and configure annual system set-up.
- Coordinate employee benefit seminars for the Team Member First program and other benefits.
- Advise and counsels management and team members on existing benefits.
- Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and five (5) years of experience in human resources and/or benefits administration required.
- CEBS preferred.
- Strategic approach to building benefit program portfolios, providing competitive options to team members and meeting corporate business goals.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with extremely detailed and complex data required.
- Highly developed sense of urgency required.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
- Collaborative approach with other HR specialty areas and contribute positively to overall teamwork.
- Time management skills to prioritize competing requests and activities.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
